I have been a photography enthusiast since a very early age and for a while in the 1970s, I made a decent living as a professional portrait photographer.  However, because of my interest in science and nature and the love of the outdoors, (and also a larger paycheck), I changed my professional direction in the 1980s.

I am licensed hydrogeologist living in the San Francisco Bay area since 1998. I earn my living as an environmental scientist specializing in the  cleanup of soil and groundwater contaminated with a variety of organic and inorganic contaminants. My career has allowed me to travel to interesting locations around the world. This, and my location in California gives me the opportunity to photograph some of the most interesting and beautiful landscapes in the world. I am including some of my favorites in this site.
